A single action in Settings permanently removes your account and its associated data.

Overview

Telody is a personal music organizer for audio you already have access to on Telegram. It helps you connect the Telegram channels you follow, search and browse the music inside them, build playlists, and listen — including offline, with Premium.

Telody is not a music streaming platform or a music marketplace. It does not host a music catalogue of its own, sell songs, or claim ownership over any audio, artwork, or other content made available through Telegram. This policy describes how Telody, as an independent application, collects and handles information in order to provide that organizing experience.

Information We Collect

Telody is built around your Telegram account, so most of what it stores is either information Telegram provides during sign-in, or information generated by how you use the app.

Telegram account information

When you sign in, Telody receives your Telegram ID, your Telegram username (if you have one set), and the display name associated with your Telegram account. This is how your Telody account is created and recognized — Telody does not use passwords for regular sign-in.

Channels and music metadata

  • The Telegram channel usernames you choose to add to your library.
  • Metadata describing the audio in those channels — such as title, artist, duration, file size, and message references — which Telody indexes so that content can be searched, browsed, and played inside the app.
  • Thumbnails and channel artwork, cached briefly to make your library load faster.

Telody does not take ownership of, or permanently host, the underlying audio files. The files themselves remain on Telegram, and Telody streams or downloads them on your behalf using Telegram's own APIs.

Bot Inbox

If you connect your Telegram account to the Telody bot, audio files you send to the bot are forwarded to a private storage location operated by Telody so that they can appear in your Bot Inbox and be played back inside the app.

Your library activity

Favorites, playlists (including their names, contents, collaborators, and whether a playlist is public), play counts, and recently played history are stored so that features such as Favorites, Most Played, Recently Played, and shared playlists work as expected. Search queries you enter are used to return results and are tied to your account only for that purpose.

Device and session information

To let you see and manage where you are signed in, Telody stores a device identifier, a device name, and basic platform information for each active session, along with the last time that session was used. Telody limits accounts to a small number of active sessions at a time.

Messages you send us

If you contact us through the app or this website, we store the message together with the name and Telegram username or ID you provide, so that we can respond to you.

Operational logs

Telody keeps short-lived technical logs of requests made to its servers, tagged with your Telegram ID or username where relevant. These logs exist to help diagnose problems and keep the service reliable, and are automatically deleted after a short retention period.

Telody and Telegram

Telody is an independent, third-party application. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or otherwise officially connected to Telegram or its parent companies, beyond Telody's use of Telegram's publicly available APIs to provide its features.

To operate, Telody connects to Telegram on your behalf — for example, to confirm your identity when you sign in, to read the message history of channels you add so their audio can be indexed, and to download or stream the audio and thumbnails you choose to play. This connection is limited to the channels and actions you initiate inside Telody.

Content shared in the Telegram channels you connect — including audio files, titles, and artwork — is not created, controlled, or vetted by Telody. That content belongs to and remains subject to the relevant channel owners and Telegram's own Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Telody does not verify the ownership, licensing, or legality of content shared in third-party channels, and does not act as a distributor or publisher of that content; it functions solely as a personal organizing and playback tool for material you already have access to on Telegram.

For information about how Telegram itself handles your data, please refer to Telegram's own privacy policy.

How We Use Information

We use the information described above to:

  • Create and secure your account, and keep you signed in across your devices.
  • Sync the Telegram channels you add and keep your library, search index, and playback up to date.
  • Provide features you rely on, such as playlists, favorites, Bot Inbox, offline downloads, and recently played history.
  • Let you manage active sessions and enforce reasonable limits on simultaneous devices.
  • Respond to messages you send us, and improve the app based on issues we identify.
  • Maintain the security, stability, and integrity of Telody's services, including detecting and preventing misuse.

Telody does not use your information to build advertising profiles, and does not sell your information to third parties.

Data Storage and Retention

  • Account, library, and activity data is retained for as long as your account remains active.
  • Operational logs are kept for a short period and then automatically deleted.
  • Thumbnails and artwork are cached temporarily to speed up loading and are refreshed periodically.
  • Audio files you download for offline listening are stored locally on your own device, under your control. You can view your download storage and clear it at any time from Settings.

When you delete your account, associated personal data is removed as described in "Account and Data Deletion" below.

Third-Party Services

Telody relies on one third-party service to operate:

  • Telegram — used for sign-in, reading channels you add, and streaming or downloading audio, as described above.

As of the effective date of this policy, Telody does not integrate third-party advertising networks or analytics/tracking SDKs.

Data Sharing

Telody does not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following circumstances:

  • With Telegram, to the extent necessary to sign you in, sync channels, and deliver audio and artwork.
  • With our payment provider, to process a subscription you initiate.
  • With other Telody users, but only for information you choose to make visible — for example, if you set your account to public or mark a playlist as public, your Telegram username and that content can be found by other users through Search. You can change this at any time from Settings.
  • If required to comply with applicable law, regulation, or a valid legal request.

Security

Telody uses industry-standard practices to help protect your information, including encrypted network connections, hashed session tokens, and access controls on administrative functions. Sign-in tokens stored on your device use your device's secure storage where available.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your account has been compromised, you can sign out of any device from Privacy & Security in Settings, or contact us for help.

Your Rights and Choices

You have direct control over most of the information Telody holds about you:

  • Update your display name at any time from Edit Profile.
  • Switch your account between Public and Private from Settings, controlling whether others can find your channels and playlists in Search.
  • Review and sign out any active session from Privacy & Security in Settings.
  • Clear your locally downloaded songs at any time, freeing up storage on your device.
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data, as described below.

Depending on where you live, applicable law may give you additional rights over your personal information. You can reach us using the contact details at the end of this policy to exercise these rights.

Account and Data Deletion

You can permanently delete your Telody account from Settings → Privacy & Security → Delete Account. This action requires confirmation and cannot be undone.

Deleting your account removes, among other things:

  • Your profile and authentication information.
  • Your channel subscriptions, favorites, and playlists you own.
  • Your active sessions and Bot Inbox connection.
  • Songs received through your Bot Inbox, your play history, and your subscription order records.

Because channel and song metadata can be shared across users who follow the same public Telegram channel, Telody also removes that shared metadata once no remaining account depends on it. Deleting your Telody account does not delete anything from Telegram itself, since that content is not stored or controlled by Telody.

Children's Privacy

Telody is not directed at children and is not intended for use by anyone under the minimum age required to use Telegram in their country. Telody does not knowingly collect personal information from children below that age. If we become aware that an account has been created by a child in violation of this policy, we will take steps to delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to Telody or for legal and operational reasons. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
